Elly the little elephant loved to play. "No sleep for me!" she trumpeted. "I want to bounce and run!"
So Elly stayed awake. She watched the stars. She tried to play with Timmy Turtle. But Elly felt tired. Her trunk felt heavy. She stumbled a lot.
"Oh dear," chirped Rosie Rabbit. "You look sleepy, Elly." Sammy Squirrel nodded. "Good sleep helps us play happy."
Elly yawned a big yawn. Maybe they were right. She lay down in her cozy bed. She closed her eyes. Soon, Elly was fast asleep. Zzzzz.
The next morning, Elly woke up. She felt super good! Her trunk was light. She bounced and ran with her friends all day.
"Hooray for sleep!" Elly trumpeted.
